Obituary for Dolpha Donald "Buck" Rohrbough

Dolpha Donald “Buck” Rohrbough, 89, of Weston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family under the care of West Virginia Hospice and taken care of by his family. Buck was born in Weston, WV on February 1, 1934, son of the late Elbert and Grace McKinley Rohrbough. Buck was united in marriage on July 12, 1955 to Isetta Jane Cavins Rohrbough, who preceded him in death on April 4, 2011.

Cherishing the life of Buck are two sons, Donald Rohrbough and special friend Ruth Helmick of Weston and Buck Rohrbough of Weston, granddaughter, Tyressa Jane Rohrbough of Weston, son-in-law, Tim Ferrell of Buckhannon, five siblings; Rex David Rohrbough and wife Linda, Pricilla Bonny Rohrbough Hefner and Phyllis Carol Rohrbough Grove all of Weston, and John Ernest Rohrbough and wife Lucille and Threca Isabelle Rohrbough Foster, both of Jane Lew, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Buck was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Jane Rohrbough and Debra Ann Rohrbough Ferrell and eight siblings; Calvin Lee Rohrbough, Elbert Roland Rohrbough, Ruhama Effie Rohrbough Woodson, Rhoda May Rohrbough Marlow, Lulu Millicent Rohrbough Hines, Annabelle Louise Rohrbough Foster, Mary Jane Rohrbough Walker, and James Anthony Rohrbough.

Buck was a retired 20 year Veteran of the United States Army serving as Master Sergeant during the Vietnam War and being awarded the Silver Star Medal. After discharge, Buck moved home on the Rohrbough Farm and worked as a school bus driver in Lewis County retiring with 16 years of service. He was a member of the Bendale United Methodist Church in Weston and the VFW Post in Weston. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming.

A private family viewing will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 1p.m. – 2p.m. at Hardman Family Funeral Home, 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston. Following the viewing, Buck will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 12 p.m. with Reverend Dwayne Brown officiating at the Hardman Family Funeral Home Chapel in Weston. Fellowship time will be held from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow services at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton with honors presented by the United States Army and the Lewis County Honor Guard.
