Obituary for Denver Roice Turner

Denver Roice Turner, 77, of Weston joined his wife Flora and his Lord in Heaven on Friday, August 6th, 2021 at his home, in the comfort of his own bed, with his loved ones by his side. He was born on September 18th, 1943 in Lewis County to the late William “Ed” Turner and Oleta (Mick) Turner. Denver was united in marriage on August 30th, 1963 to Flora Alice (Messenger) Turner, who preceded him in death on January 20th, 2012.

Forever cherishing the memory of Denver are his daughter Kim Brown and husband Boone of Jane Lew, 2 grandchildren: Devin Brown and wife Anna of Weston and Dr. Breanna Brown and fiancée Nick Smith of Central City, NE, 1 brother: Laine Turner and wife Carol of Falling Waters, WV and several nieces and nephews. Denver was also blessed with many friends over the years that were very special to him.

In addition to his parents and wife, Denver was preceded in death by one sister Reverend Betty T. Wilt.

Denver was a graduate of Weston High School Class of 1961. He was a member and song leader of the Waldeck United Methodist Church. He was retired from Equitable Gas with 38 years of service. Denver was an accomplished Carpenter but his passion was in farming. He was a member of the Lewis County Farm Bureau, Lewis County Livestock Association, Ohio Valley Limosine Association, WV Cattleman’s Association, Lewis County Shrine Club, 50 year member of the Gilmer County Masonic Lodge and 32nd Degree Mason. Denver was formerly on the Board of Directors of the Southern State Cooperation and currently on the Board of Directors of Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Denver above all cherished time spent and memories made with his family.

Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Monday, August 9th, 2021 from 4:00-7:00pm. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 10th, 2021 from the funeral home chapel at 1:00pm with Reverend Ronzel Roberts officiating.
