Obituary for Delores Eileen Thompson (Swick)
Delores Eileen (Swick) Thompson, 78, of Weston went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV following a courageous battle with cancer. Delores was born in Weston, WV on July 22, 1944, daughter of the late Argyl Blair and Iva (Boram) Swick. Delores was united in marriage on November 11, 1967 to her loving husband of 55 years, Michael D. Thompson, who survives.
Cherishing the life of Delores are her husband Michael, daughter, Lisa Michelle Allen and husband Jim of Weston, son, Kevin Michael Thompson and wife Shea of Kingston, TN, grandchildren, Kaleb Allen and wife Misty, Kassidy Allen, Kessa Cox and husband Nick, Jonathan Thompson, and Landon Thompson, great grandchildren, Avery and Hunter Allen.
Delores retired as an auditor with the Citizens Bank in Weston. She was a lifetime member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church where she worked as a secretary for many years. She was a graduate of the West Virginia Business College and was past Worthy Matron of the Weston Chapter #40 Order of Eastern Star. She was also a part of the Rowdy Girls, which were friends who quilted, sewed, and cooked together. She enjoyed quilting, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandbabies. Delores will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends will gather at Broad Street United Methodist Church at 210 Broad Street, Weston on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 4PM-7PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 11AM from the Broad Street United Methodist Church chapel with Reverend Brian Plum and Reverend Richard Justice officiating.
