Obituary for Connie Gail Knicely (Rush)

Connie Gail Knicely, 72, of Buckhannon, WV passed away on Tuesday, October 11th, 2022 in WV Caring Hospice Center in Elkins, WV. She was born in Dille, WV on April 7th, 1950: daughter of the late Everett Rush and Alma (Ramsey) Rush. On May 21st, 2004, she married James Knicely, who preceded her in death in June of 2021.

Cherishing her memories are two daughters: Shelby Alderman and husband Doug of Buckhannon and Sara Riffle of Martinsburg, WV, three step children: Vicky Kelly and husband Tim of Buckhannon, Larry Knicely of Ft. Wayne, IN and Rick Knicely and wife Stephanie of Jane Lew and eleven grandchildren: James and Benjamin Alderman, Cole Kelly, Morgan, Payton, Seth, Justin, Kelly, Jason Knicely, Tim Blake and Laiken Cobb and four great grandchildren: Aleeah Knicely and Bella, Olivia and Colson Cobb. Also cherishing her memory is one sister: Peggy Woodruff of Brookesville, FL and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, James, Connie was preceded in death by one step son: Terrance Knicely, two brothers: Barry and Jerry Rush.

Mrs. Knicely was retired from William R. Sharpe Hospital of Weston as a licensed practical nurse. She was a graduate of Burnsville High School with the class of 1969. Connie was a member of the Buckhannon Union Mission Church. She enjoyed gardening in her flower and vegetable gardens. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Sunday, October 16th, 2022 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral services will follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman Family Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Dennis Estes officiating.
