Obituary for Christine "Teeny" Harris (Roupe)
Christine “Teeny” Roupe Harris, 73, of Jane Lew, WV passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019 following an extended illness. She was born in Clarksburg, WV on March 19, 1946: a daughter of the late David W. Roupe, Jr. and Emogene Sinclair Roupe.
She is survived by her faithful husband, Alva “J.R.” Harris, Jr. and her three children, David Simpson and wife Lisa of Stuart, FL; Kaye Simpson-Fouch and husband Rob Of Jane Lew, WV; Leigh Anne Hastings of Seattle, WA; and step daughter, Desarae Hammond and husband Rich of Weston, W. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Elizabeth Viau and husband Chad, Robert Simpson; Holli Simpson; Lainey Simpson; Sydney Hastings; Leta Hastings; and her great grandson, Colton James Viau; sisters, Diane, Kathleen, Donna, Melody; brother Chuck and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her nephew and niece, Chuckie and Casie Roupe and step-daughter, Marlena Harris.
Christine was a1964 graduate of Unidus High School in West Milford, WV. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a devout Christian and attended Bethel Temple in Bridgeport, WV. She enjoyed singing, painting, crafting, swimming and spending time with her beloved family and friends. Christine sang for several years with the Beacons of Light Trio with whom she proudly recorded a southern gospel album in Nashville. She was always laughing, never knew a stranger, full of life and will be remembered for her sense of Humor. Christine lived by faith, had a kind heart and a passion for serving others.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5 at Bethel Temple 133 Johnson Avenue Bridgeport, WV. Although we celebrate her life, Christine will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
