Obituary for Cheryl Jo Cox

Cheryl Jo Cox, 71, of Weston, WV passed away on Sunday, January 24th, 2021 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on February 28th, 1949 in Lewis County to the late Hayward Columbus Skinner and Reva Gae (Pritt) Skinner.

Forever remembering Cheryl’s life are her two daughters: Melissa Cutright and husband Greg of Massillon, OH and Carol Lea Pennington of Weston, WV, 4 grandchildren: Spencer Weaver and wife Brittany, Christopher Nicholas and wife Sierra, Cody Nicholas and wife Lexi and Hunter Weaver, 2 great-grandchildren: Wyatt Weaver and Cooper Weaver, 2 brothers: Bud Skinner of Charleston, WV and Allen Skinner and wife Gae of Weston, WV, a sister: Joyce Norman and companion Ken Edwards of Orlando, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Cheryl was preceded in death by a brother Bill Skinner.

Cheryl enjoyed watching old western shows on television. She loved drinking her Coke and eating her chocolates. She loved to read Harlequin romance books. Cheryl enjoyed doing crafts especially making flower arrangements and wreaths. She liked to decorate cakes and would even make wedding cakes for people. Cheryl had a passion to make ceramics and had a kiln to do them with. More than anything Cheryl loved her family. She cherished time spent with her grandbabies.

Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston, WV on Friday, January 29th, 2021 from 11:00AM-12:00PM with a private family funeral service at 12:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Dwayne Brown officiating. Interment will follow services at Casto Cemetery of Knawl’s Creek, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be sent to the Lewis County Family Resource Network at P.O.
