Obituary for Carolyn Sue Bleigh
Carolyn Sue Bleigh, 75, of 401 John Street of Weston, WV passed away on Tuesday, February 9th, 2021 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital after a long battle with COPD. She was born on March 8th, 1945 in Upshur County to the late Carl Buchanan and Ona Pearl (Halpenny) Buchanan. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by two brothers Gaylord “Sonny” Buchanan and John David Buckhannon, one half-brother Donald Paul Halpenny, one sister Mary Linda Simons and one infant son Richard Scott Bleigh that passed away at birth on December 25th, 1966.
Forever remembering Sue’s life are her one living brother Herbert R. Buckhannon and wife Susan of Shinnston, WV, 4 children Mary Ann Good and husband David of Weston, WV, Beth Baugh and husband Raymond of Weston, WV, David Bleigh of Jane Lew, WV and Jamey Bleigh and fiancé Christina Stout of Weston, WV, 8 grandchildren: Chris Good and fiancé Liz Stark, David Bleigh II, Kayla Bleigh, Shyla Bleigh, Tera Leigh Stout, Johnathan Baugh and fiance Desiree Canoy, Dustin Merritt and Tamara Meadows, 8 great-grandchildren: Haylee Meadows, Raelinn Meadows, Aria Merritt, Braylynn Clem, Madison Bleigh, Mason Lee Bleigh, Makenna Ann Brooke Bleigh and Samantha Harlow, three great-great grandchildren, 3 nephews Scott Simons, Steve Buckhannon and Brian Buckhannon deceased, 2 nieces Paula Shriver and Carolyn Buckhannon and several other nieces and nephews.
Sue was a Baptist by faith. She enjoyed playing bingo and going and getting her hair and nails done any time she could. The rest of her time she loved to spend at home in her pajamas watching television with her caregivers, who she dearly loved. Sue was a very fun loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston, WV on Saturday, February 13th, 2021 from 4:00PM-6:00PM with a private family funeral service being held in the funeral home chapel at 6:00PM with Pastor Wease Day officiating. Following services, Sue will be cremated and a graveside service will be held at Rock Cave Cemetery on Friday, February 19th, 2021 at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be sent to Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Ave. Weston, WV 26452 to help aid in funeral expenses.
