Obituary for Beverly June Kelley

Beverly June Kelley, 93, of Horner, WV went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 9th, 2022 at her son’s home. She was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on November 12th, 1929: daughter of the late John Driskell and Eva (Harrell) Driskell. On July 11th, 1956, she married Ai Kelley, Sr, who preceded her in death on June 9th, 1997.

Mrs. Kelley’s memory will be forever cherished by one daughter: Jennifer Mayo of Atlanta, GA, one son: Ai Kelley, Jr of Horner, WV, seven grandchildren: Taylor Kelley of Avon, MN, Joziah Kelley of Horner, WV and Thomasyne Harrison of Clarkesville, GA, Shawnta Mayo of Charleston, SC, Ethan Mayo of Tucker, GA, Sabrina Musselwhite of Saint Mary’s, GA and Rebecca Ashton of England and two great grandchildren: Kinsley and Macey. She will also be remembered by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Ai, Beverly was preceded in death by one daughter: Linda Kelley and two brothers: David and Doug Driskell.

Mrs. Kelley was the owner of Kelley’s Clothing in Weston. She was a member of the Horner United Methodist Church and lifelong friends with Bob and Peg Summers. She was stationed in Japan during her civil service assignment and worked in various secretarial positions including the Palm Beach Post, as hospital ward clerk, and finally retiring from the Drug Enforcement Unit of SC Department of Health and Environmental Control. Her hobbies including quilting, painting and donating/volunteering at local animal shelters as her rescue dogs were beloved companions.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 17th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fairfield Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro, SC with Jeff Mayo speaking. Interment will follow services in the family section of the cemetery. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Beverly may be expressed at hardmanfamilyfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations can be made to your local animal rescue or the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
