Obituary for Betty Ann Nicholson (Ward)
Betty Ann Nicholson, 76, of Weston, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was born in Weston on February 15, 1946, daughter of the late John Everett and Hattie Marie (Smith) Ward. Betty was united in marriage on August 15, 1969 to her loving husband, Randall E. Nicholson, where together they shared a wonderful 53 years.
Cherishing the life of Betty are her husband Randall, sister in law, Celia Linger and husband Larry of New Smyrna Beach, FL and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a half-sister JoAnn Shore.
Betty was a graduate of Jane Lew High School in 1964. She furthered her education and graduated from Glenville State College in 1968. She worked as a Social Service Supervisor for the Department of Health and Human Resources. Betty was the Director of the Hackers Creek Pioneer Descendant for 10 years and a member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church. She was an avid quilter, and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and genealogy.
Family and friends will be received at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 12PM-2PM. The funeral service will be held at 2PM from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Brian Plum officiating. Interment will follow services at Broad Run Cemetery in Jane Lew.
