Obituary for Bernard Earl Morrison

Bernard Earl Morrison (95) of Weston passed away on April 18, 2020, at his home under the care of his wife Marianna Finster Morrison. He was born October 25, 1924, to the late Opha Eugene and Rosalia Luzader Morrison. H was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Hammer Morrison: a sister Virginia Myers, two brothers Gene Morrison and Loren Morrison; one step daughter Beverly Riffle Heater, and one step great grandchild.

Surviving are two daughters: Linda Alkire (Larry) of French Creek, Janette Brown of Raleigh, NC, and two sons Bruce Morrison(Pam)of Weston and Jeffery Morrison (Pam) of Huntington, one stepdaughter Brenda Ellyson of Palmyra, VA, four step sons Bruce Riffle of Weston, Ben Riffle (Jeri) of Barnegat, NJ, Bill Riffle (Linda) of Lenox, GA, Brad Riffle (Anne) of Lebanon, PA. There are 9 surviving grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren.

Bernard was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was employed on highway construction most of his life and retired from the Department of Highways. He was member of the Berlin Odd Fellows, the St, Matthews United Methodist Church, and the Weston Lodge AF&AM No. 10. Bernard was an Eastern Star member, an instructor for Hunters’ Education and the oldest member of the Weston Fishing Club. In his life time he enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing, and a glass of ice tea while sitting on the porch.

The family would like to send a special thanks to Vanessa Lloyd, his nurse.

Mr. Morrison’s request for cremation will be honored and a private graveside service will be held in Friendship Cemetery of Jane Lew with Reverend Jim Martin officiating.
