Obituary for Agnes Glendalene Heater

Agnes Glendalene Heater, 95, of Mill Creek, WV, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Davis Medical Center in Elkins, WV. She was born in Burnsville, WV on February 15, 1927, daughter of the late Charles Dewey Spaur and Retha Agnes (Gregory) Spaur. Agnes was united in marriage on May 7, 1986 to Homer Heater who preceded her in death on October 24, 1991.

Cherishing the life of Agnes are 1 son: Leslie Angus Beaton and wife Ann of Adolph, WV, 3 daughters: Constance Beth (Beaton) Mullinix of Athens, GA, Cheryl Renee (Marsh) Hughes and husband Jody of Belington, WV, and Retha Ann (Marsh) Jahangir and husband Majid of Clermont, FL, 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 1 brother: Rexall Faye Spaur of Sand Fork, WV, 1 sister: Hilda Mace of Vienna, WV, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Agnes was preceded in death by 4 brothers: James Burton Spaur, Rondall Dewey Spaur, Charles Gregory Spaur, and Drexell Ray Spaur, 2 sisters: Anita Tennant and Delores Murphy, a granddaughter: Amanda Smith, and great granddaughter: Xaveria Jarrell.

Agnes had retired from the Weston State Hospital working as a Psychiatric Aid III. She was a member of the Victory Assemble of God Church in Weston. In her retirement years she worked as a Human Resource receptionist for the Wycliffe Bible Translator in Orlando, FL. She enjoyed her garden, flowers, loved to read and work puzzles and play Rummy and Yahtzee. In her final years she loved crocheting rag rugs and giving them to family and friends.

Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 11AM-1PM. The funeral service will begin at 1PM from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ryan Whitlow officiating. Interment will follow services at the High Knob Cemetery in Braxton County.
