Obituary for Lynna May Davis (Sands)

Lynna May (Sands) Davis, 79, of Scott Depot, WV, formerly of Jane Lew, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 in Thomas Memorial Hospital of South Charleston following an extended illness. She was born in Clarksburg on December 23, 1939: daughter of the late Frederick Sands and Alice E. (McIntyre) Geiss. Lynna was married to William G. Davis, who preceded her in death in August of 2006.

Mrs. Davis is survived by one daughter: Elizabeth Brumley and husband Michael of Cross Lanes, one son: Steve White and wife Terri of Newton, AL, two step children: Lori Davis Jenkins and family and Sonya Davis and family, 7 grandchildren: Brian Riley, Amy Riley, Matthew (Abby Jo) Brumley, Sarah (Liam) Gallagher, John Brumley, Seth White, and Ashton White and 6 great grandchildren: Jaila Horton, Chasia Horton, Adonijah Horton, Brian “Bub” Riley, Brayden Riley and Aliyah Lewis. And several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and Bill, Lynna was preceded in death by one daughter: Lecia White, one great grandchild: Trevion Riley, two brothers: Cameron Sands and infant brother: David Michael Sands and her first husband: Richard White.

Lynna lived a life of service. Early on she served the Clarksburg community through the League of Service as a member and eventually as president of the organization. Later in her life she served the Weston community through her work at Dr. Snead’s office. She loved all the people she encountered during her time there. All throughout her life, she loved and cared for her family and always put their needs before her own. She was a little woman who made a big mark on all the hearts she touched.

Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. The family will celebrate a Mass on Friday at 11:00 a.m. from St. Patrick Church of Weston with Reverend James R, DeViese as celebrant. Interment will follow the mass in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Quiet Dell, WV. Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. from the funeral home chapel.
