Obituary for Myrtle May Umble (Marlow)

Myrtle May Umble, 72, of Buckhannon passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019, in Ruby Memorial Hospital of Morgantown following a brief illness. She was born in Weston on December 30, 1946: daughter of the late Gilbert Marlow and Rhoda (Rohrbough) Marlow and is survived by step-mother: Mildred Harvey of Weston. Myrtle was also preceded in death by her husband: Gary T. Umble.

Mrs. Umble is survived by three children: Betty Sturgill and husband James of LaGrange, OH; Clifford White and wife Jeanette of Buckhannon, WV; and Joyce Pumphrey and companion Ray White of Beverly, WV; and four step-children: Evanell Umble (Deceased); Pam Smarr and husband Larry, Gary W. Umble and companion Carol, and Beth Koon and husband James all of Buckhannon. Also, surviving are five grandchildren: Preston and Parker Sturgill; Ashlea White; and Emma and McKenzie Pumphrey; 10 step-grandchildren: Christina Miller; Ginger Marlow; Aaron, Dameon, and Adrian Glassier; Nathaniel, Joseph, and Chelsey Umble; and Josh and Jimbob Koon. She is also survived by two brothers: David and Stanley Marlow both of Weston; three sisters: Sandy Cox of Cleveland, OH; and Cathy Skinner, and Sarah Henline both of Weston.

Mrs. Umble was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bendale United Methodist Church of Weston. Myrtle enjoyed playing card games and going shopping with her grandkids. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and having family parties.

Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Dwayne Brown officiating.
