Carl Ray James, 78, of Fowler Road Jane Lew (Good Hope community) passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Gilmer County on February 4, 1940, son of the late Freddie Charles James and Geneva Marie (Snyder) James. On July 15, 1966, he married Carolyn Marie (Coffield) James, who survives.
He is also survived by two daughters: Michelle Casto and husband Rick of Good Hope and Stacie Toothman and husband Joshua of West Milford, three grandchildren: Craig Casto and wife Brooke, Chantelle Cumpston and husband Colby and Van Toothman and two great grandchildren: Jordan King and Jaden Casto. Also surviving is one sister: Patty Belt of Weston, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by one brother: Donnie James and two sisters: Nina Ware and Linda Ellyson .And in addition to his family, he was loved by his wife's extended and loving family.
Mr. James was a sheet metal worker with Sutter Roofing and Metal of Clarksburg with 45+ years of services. He was a graduate of Jane Lew High School. Mr. James was a veteran of the United States Army. His hobbies included carpentry and fishing. His greatest joy was hanging out with his wife, two girls and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Tom Sears officiating.
