Danny Ray Smith, 64, of Weston passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at WV Veterans Nursing Facility following an extended illness. He was born in Lewis County on January 14, 1954: son of the late Willie Ersel Smith and Retha Emma (Reeder) Smith.
Mr. Smith is also survived by one daughter: Chera Smith of Weston, one grandchild: Chaeli Gum, three brothers Donald Smith of Weston, Glen Smith of Buckhannon and Larry Smith of Weston, three sisters: Patricia Garrison of Weston, Brenda Rittenhouse of Weston and Carol Cayton of Clarksburg and a special friend Judy Dennis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by one brother.
Mr. Smith was in both the Army and Navy were he proudly served and a Glassworker were he skillfully mastered various trades within. Danny was a Christian by Faith. He loved to fish, spend time with the family as well as his nursing home family. He totally enjoyed the outings the nursing home provided.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 11-1:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held the same day at 1:00 p.m. from the H-P F.H. chapel with Dan Hoover officiating. Interment will follow services in the Peterson Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Lewis County Honor Guard.
