Obituary for Raetta June Hardman (Jewell)

Raetta June Hardman, 75, of Vandalia, Skin Creek Community, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 in Mon General Hospital of Morgantown following an extended illness. She was born in Weston on July 18, 1942: daughter of the late Ralph Jewell and Elizabeth (Strader) Jewell of Canton, OH. On January 6, 1962, she married her soulmate of 56 years, Richard L. Hardman, who survives.
Mrs. Hardman is also survived by two daughters: Tammie L. Hardman Campbell and husband Todd of Vandalia and Julia E. Hardman Shepley and husband Dennis of Port Orange, FL, one son: Kevin R. Hardman and wife Robin of Vandalia and five grandchildren: Richard Seth Hardman, Coleman Lee Hardman and wife Marianna, Robert Trevor Hardman, Gavin Joseph Shepley and MacKenna Grace Shepley. She is also survived by one sister: Vicki Lloyd and husband Tom of Canton, OH and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hardman was the former Secretary/Treasurer of Hardman Trucking, Inc. and kept the books for many years. She was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church of Weston. She was past member of the West Virginia Farm Bureau, member of the Modern Woodmen Camp#1034 and a graduate of the University of Hard Knocks. Raetta loved antiquing and spending winters in Florida. But most of all, she loved being with her family. She was a devoted Christian, Loving wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, Neighbor and friend.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 3-7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Richard Justice, Reverend Doug Smailes and Dr. Don McIntyre officiating.
